CAK, after having defeated Midway in the playoffs last year, came into the game with a potent offense capable of putting up big numbers. It was going to take a TEAM effort to beat the west Knoxville based team and that’s just what happened.
Midway had not one player, not two players, but a host of players fight to the end to hold on to the 21-18 win. The Offensive Lineman held their ground and gave holes for #3, Blake Bray, to tally 112 yards and 2 TD’s. Jude O’Toole returned to the line up and toasted CAK with QB keepers around the outside. Myers recorded 2 interceptions. Woody threw big hits. The Defensive Lineman and Linebackers had a huge task of keeping CAK’s offense off the field. Tanner went 3 for 3 kicking the ball through the uprights.
