Bruce Gage, who is known as one of the toughest players to ever wear the green and white, was escorted by police from the basketball court at MTSU’s Murphy Center. In 1977, Midway boys basketball team made their first trip to the state tournament. After Midway won the first game against Knox Porter, Bruce, caught up in the excitement, came out of the stands and tried to get to the court to congratulate the team, but didn’t make it and was escorted out of the arena.
