Bryan Noland (LB/OL):
SORSN: Rumor has it Greenback sent a bunch of black roses to the school before the game. Can you tell us if this is true and if so what effect it had on the team?
Bryan: It’s not true
(Man, it sure would be a good story if it were)
SORSN: After getting the first sack of the night, you did a shimmy like dance move. What do you call that?
Bryan: Samoan Stomp
SORSN: What is your mindset going into a big game like last Fridays? Do you try to relax before the game, go into the game mad and fired up or something else?
Bryan: I just try to go into the game fired up and with a lot of enthusiasm
SORSN: As the season has rolled on, we’ve noticed that the SOR chant has started to become stronger each week and that the crowd has became increasingly more involved. Do you think the crowd is a factor in your games? Do you feel that crowd needs to be more into the game?
Bryan: Yes, Yes! The crowd is like the 12th man. With the fans, we stay in the games more and stay fired up.
SORSN: If you had to pick your favorite football movie what would it be?
Bryan: Remember the Titans
Justin Pressley (DB/WR):
SORSN: The secondary really stepped up this game, what do you think contributed to the success of the DB’s Friday night?
Justin: We knew what we had to do going in to the game. We knew if we made them one dimensional they would have to pass and we all step up.
SORSN: How big was this game for you personally and to the team as a whole?
Justin: We haven’t beat greenback in 2 years and it was important that we won to stay ahead in the region.
SORSN: Do you feel more comfortable playing man to man or zone and which does the team run more?
Justin: To me it doesn’t matter, just whatever we have to do to keep them from moving the ball on us. The secondary this year has had a lot of tough receivers to guard and so far we have proven we can do it in important situations.
SORSN: What do you think about the new SOR stickers?
Justin: The stickers are great I haven’t got my can cleaned up to put mine on yet but it will be on soon.
(To get your “SOR – South of the River Trash” sticker, contact Trevor Davis or email us here at SORSN)
SORSN: Are you related to the King, Elvis Pressley and is he alive?
Justin: No I don’t think I’m related to him and if I am and he’s alive, he can send me some money.
Jeremy Woody (DB/WR/QB):
SORSN: Describe what happened on the play where it looked like Spencer handed you the ball in mid-air?
Jeremy: We were in man coverage, I got beat off the line. Spencer broke on the ball well, and tipped it. Then I stuck my hands out, and it just fell into them.
SORSN: What do you think is the biggest factor that has helped the team get to 5-1?
Jeremy: Experience, coming together as a team, and defense.
SORSN: What steps are you taking to prepare for the game against Oneida this week?
Jeremy: Just focusing in practice, listening to the coaches, and getting ready to out-hit those Indians!
SORSN: You seem to have gotten several good hits on some opposing WR and several interceptions. Which would gives you a bigger thrill, returning an INT for a TD or drilling a WR that has stretched out in front of you?
Jeremy: That was my first interception for a TD, so I would have to say running an interception back.
SORSN: SORSN.com owner and editor Shawn Queener found a snake in his back yard after purchasing some top soil from your grandfather, Boyd Woody. Was this a mafia type (Think horse head in your bed) warning for the SORSN editor to get his act in gear and interview you?
Jeremy: I don’t know. I guess it was just a coincidence.
Sure it was Jeremy, sure it was.
