Waves End Regular Season With Win #9

Midway continues to roll on as they end the regular season with an easy 42-14 win over Sunbright. This win puts the 2004 squad into the MHS record books for the best regular season record, a record of 9 wins and only 1 loss.

The Waves offense and defense sputtered a bit to start the game but the defense came up big when it needed to, stopping Sunbright on 4th down plays deep in the redzone. The only points Midway gave up were in the 4th quarter with the starters on the sidelines.

Daniel “Highlight Reel” Bredwell had another excellent game running the ball. One play involved “juking” the socks off a Sunbright defender as he broke free for a long touch down run. Blake “The Mule” Bray also had a good game on the ground. He would run over defenders as he rushed for 2 TD’s on the night.

Spencer “Swivel Hips” Myers had some big catches and some big runs after the catch as Midway begins to improve on a more balanced offense. Myers also has found his punting foot again. A couple big punts from Myers really helped to swing field position.

Sunbright’s offense stuck to short passes and running plays…they elected not to challenge Myers and Woody with the deep ball. Good decision.

The offensive and defensive lines dominated once again. Jason Crask (LB), Zach Moore, Bryan Noland, Caleb “Am I Your Superman” Clark, Big Jon Russell, the Stansbury brothers
