SORSN: Much like the game against Rockwood, the boys let the game against CAK slip away in the 2nd half. This type of “one half on & one half off” play also plagued the teams that I was apart of in the mid ’90s. What has to be done in order to put together 2 complete halves?
Darrell: I do not have the answer to this question, but the cream will rise to the top eventually. This is what has happened in most of these you mentioned in the past. In short it’s the little things that add up in a half that changed the game.
SORSN: You are nearly world famous for your stories that were often told during the late ’80s and early ’90s. “Hold my glasses”, “Scooters on Clinton Hwy” and the story involving kittens and a lawn mower are popular stories remembered by all who had the privilege to hear them. Are these stories still told today or have you officially retired them? Do you have a favorite story to tell?
Darrell: Yes, these stories and many more. We are currently putting together a top 100 stories, told in detail, from first to 100th. The first book signing is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2005 at the Coastal Parking lot.
SORSN: The Waves travel to Greenback on Friday night. What does your team have to do to walk out with a win?
Darrell: Defense’em up, take care of the ball, hit the boards, and knock down some shots.
SORSN: Christmas is approaching. You’re a die-hard fan of the movie “Christmas Vacation” with Chevy Chase. Do you still watch this on a yearly basis? Do you have a “Cousin Eddie” on your team this year?
Darrell: Yes, every 6 months. I believe there is a “Cousin Eddie” on the team, we just have not been able to identify.
(We at SORSN have several in mind)
