The Greenwaves took a royal butt whoopin’ from CAK on Monday, losing 26-4. Coach Shillings went deep on the depth chart to find pitchers. It’s rumored that at one point he nearly pulled “CupCake” away from roasting hotdogs to put him on the mound.
Despite the big loss, the Greenwaves came into the game against Cosby ready to play. Big Jon Russell continues to hit the long ball. Jon is on a 4-game streak of having at least one homer. Sam “I am” Stansbury and the Samoan Stomp himself, Bryan Noland, also had homers in the game. Alex “A-Rod” Norman had a solid game at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored.
“Swivel Hips” had a good game on the mound as he went 5 innings giving up only 1 hit and 0 earned runs.
The Greenwaves continue to rack up errors on the defensive side of the ball. All 3 runs by Cosby came via Midway errors.
The Greenwaves are on the road today to Union Co. and again on the road Thursday in a rematch of CAK.
