During a game in the 1979 season a referee approached Coach Branson and asked him if he had a player with a mental problem. When Coach Branson inquired as to why he asked, the ref replied that one of the Midway players was growling and barking at him like a dog and the Ref was afraid that the player was gonna bite him. That player was none other then the great and somewhat crazy Hal Galyon.
