Big John pitched 5 good innings this game. Wartburg seemed terrified of our big man on the mound. One player came to bat and was knee knocking the whole time at bat. Every time he came to the box he looked as if he was about to shake to death from his knees on down. In the 6th he began to tire and Ryan came in for relief, but was favoring a sprained ankle and had no control and Wartburg tied the game in the 6th.
Midway bats came alive in extra innings. AP got hit by pitch, Seth slammed a double to center, Big John hit a single, Sam crammed a line shot down left line for a triple clearing the bases, several walks and hit by pitches and a single to right center put us up 9 to 3.
Walks and a couple of hit batters with a couple of singles by Wartburg gave them 4 more runs and put the score 9 to 7.
Ruffner made the call to AROD in the 8th. Alex comes to the mound, bases loaded 1 out. Talk about pressure. He rose to the occasion once again. Two strike outs! Greenwaves Win 9 to 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
