Thursday night brought the much anticipated start of the MHS football season as the Waves traveled to Rockwood for the traditional Thursday night opener. The Waves looked good early in the game but Rockwood began to take control and came away with a 21-6 win.
Rockwood had the first possession of the game and the Midway defense didn’t allow them much, forcing a quick punt. The Midway offense took over and quickly began moving the ball; however, then came what would be a night full of penalties against Midway. At the blink of an eye, Midway was faced with a 2nd down and a mile. But leave it up to the Rocket Man, Seth Lyle to roll out and toast the Rockwood defense up the sidelines for a first down, allowing the drive to continue.
