Interview with Ray Robinson

Ray Robinson, Junior Running Back
SORSN: Congratulations on the dominating performance over Oakdale…but all that aside, this week the team travels to Coalfield for a big district game. Tell us what was it like having a bye week and do you think it will help or hurt the team to have a week off before Coalfield?

Ray Ray: I think having that extra week is going to pay off for us. This is the game that we’ve been waiting for all year and we had time last week to improve.

SORSN: I have to admit, during the season opener against Claiborne County, I made the comment to fellow photographer, Travis, that you were not running hard..that you seemed to be “tip-toeing” through the line. But on the very next play, you made me eat my words as you busted through the line for a 50+ yard touch down run. Would you describe yourself as a running back that gets better as the game goes on?

Ray Ray: Yes, sometimes it takes me a play or two to get a feel of how the defense is playing.

SORSN: Whose posters are hanging up in your bedroom?

Ray Ray: Well, I grew up, so I took the Sponge Bob one down and I put up my new Power Rangers one.

SORSN: There seems to be some competition this year for the SORSN Best Hair Award. Ashton Chinn is supporting a Mohawk and Wakon appears to have enough hair to start dreadlocks of his own. You’re a former winner of the Best Hair Award, do you have styling ideas that may help move yourself ahead of the others and become the first two-time SORSN Best Hair winner?

Ray Ray: I’ve already won, I know I have. Me and you are best buds right Shawn? You need any money? You want me to wash your car. I got your back.

SORSN: During the Oakdale game, the offense often operated with a split back field; I believe for the first time this season. Do you have a personal preference between split back vs I formation?

Ray Ray: I really like I formation better, I’m closer to the line and I can hit the hole faster.

SORSN: It’s been reported that Coach Justin O’Toole buys TAG body spray by the gallon. What can you tell us about Coach O’Toole’s love of TAG? What particular fragrance of TAG does he prefer?

Ray Ray: The reports are false. Coach O’Toole doesn’t buy gallons of tag, but I wish he would. You can smell him from one end of the field to the other. TAG and Shampoo: two things coach doesn’t buy.

SORSN: Answer the following:
Favorite Movie: High School Musical
Favorite TV Show: HEE HAW
Best Pre-Game Song: Throw it UP
Gummie Bears or Gummie Worms: Neither, real men eat Pixie Stix
