Last Friday night, the boys from the south traveled across county to Harriman for a region show down. A Green Wave win would clinch the Region title with 2 regular season games remaining. A Green Wave loss would keep Harriman and Oneida in the contention and could result in a 3-way tie for the region title.
6:45 PM: SORSN Photographer, Travis Action Jackson, and I meet at McDonald’s in Kingston to discuss our game predictions, camera settings, and Britney Spears’ parental abilities.
7:15 PM: We arrive on campus, struggle to find a place to park, and enter Wallace-Black field. With kick-off approaching, Travis & I simultaneously ask each other if someone forgot to tell the Harriman fans there was a football game scheduled..
7:30 PM: Game time..woooooo!
What happened next caught the SOR crowd by surprise. Harriman took the opening kick-off and drove down the field for a touch down in the games first series. What was this? Someone showed up to play some football against the Green & White? The Waves found themselves in a position that they’ve rarely been in this season, and that was trailing.
But the Blue Devils lead wouldn’t last long, as it would only take 3 minutes for the Waves to tie the game and gain the momentum.
What happened the rest of the game was nothing short of spectacular. The SOR fans, and those Blue Devil fans that showed up, should have been asked to pay double admission because of the football clinic that Ray Robinson held. Ray Ray had his best game of the year, rushing for 3 touchdowns
