Lady Waves Pick up win; move closer

The Midway High School Lady Green Waves moved closer to .500 with a 63-37 win over Berean Christian.

The win puts the Lady Waves at 6-8 and with 4 players in double digits, the offense is playing well at a very critical point in the season. The Lady Waves have 2 district games remaining, and those 2 games will determine if the Lady Waves finish the regular season in 1st place or 4th place.

The Lady Waves shot an impressive 8-11 from the charity strip, something that has plagued them this season.

We asked Coach Woody about the game.

“In our pregame we talked about rebounds and made shots would be what it would take to win the game. We did those things and we won the game.”

Boys Game
The Waves struggles continue as they dropped a heart breaker, 45-52, to Berean Christian. The Waves, 3-16 (2-8), remain in 7th position and out of reach of the district playoffs. The Waves need to win at Rockwood this Friday if they want to keep the hope of the playoffs alive. After starting the season 2-1, the Waves have struggled play consistently for 4 periods in nearly every game.

Midway has two key district games remaining: this Friday at Rockwood, and next Friday at home against Harriman. They also have a makeup game this Saturday at Oakdale with a noon tip-off.
