Waves’ Season Comes to an End

The 2008 Midway Greenwave football season ended on a cold, wet night on the Oneida reservation Friday night as the Waves fell 0-34 to a tough, orange- clad tribe of Indians.

Ray Robinson came into the game on the heels of a 207 rushing yard performance at Cosby. The Oneida defense was determined to make Ray Ray fight for every inch and they were successful, limiting him to just 49 yards. The Waves would try to go to the air but with pouring rain, gusting wind, and a quick Oneida secondary, the Midway passing game (0-12) was grounded.

The Greenwaves end the season with an 8-4 record and another 2nd round playoff appearance. To quote the ole’ ball coach, Darrell Ruffner, “winning breeds winning”; and winning has become contagious in the Midway football program.
