Last Saturday, the Lady Waves played a rare afternoon game. The Midway girls hosted the Oneida Lady Indians.
While Hannah Colyer rested her arm, Michele Walden took over as pitcher and threw for five strikeouts. Walden also had a great day at the plate. She hit 3-4 and knocked in 4 RBIs. One of those hits struck the top of the center field fence. Playing as an infielder, Colyer held another of Midway’s big bats in this game. She hit 2-4, with 3 RBIs. Other major contributors to the Lady Wave offense were second baseman Taylor Narramore (2-4, 2 RBIs), Hayley “Patty” Patterson (2-3, 1 RBI), and outfielder Paige Moree (1-3, 2 RBIs). Shortstop Danielle Borum batted 2-4 on the day.
In the end, the Lady Waves picked up a 12-0 victory.
