The Jr Waves traveled just across the bridge to face county foe, Cherokee Yellow Jackets. The two teams had met earlier, at the Roane County Jamboree held at Midway with the Waves winning the one quarter exhibition, 16-0. It was much different this go ‘round.
SORSN joined the game already in progress. Down 0-16 early in the 2nd quarter, the Greenwaves already looked worn. Cherokee would tack on more points before the half would end; taking a comfortable 24-0 lead into the break. Tackling, or the lack there of, was a major contributor in the demise of the Greenwave defense.
Cherokee continued to run the ball with ease, adding more points. With a score of 0-34 at the end of the 3rd, SORSN packed up the camera & diaper bags and headed out the gates of Dr. Nat Sugarman Field.
