Waves swing Pick Panel after last weeks performance

The Greenwaves will travel to the land of the blue demons…Harriman…to face the winless Blue Devils. The Waves are coming off a big win against Tellico Plains…yes, I said big. It marks the first time in several seasons that the Waves have had back-to-back wins.

Can the Waves get a big district win against a very hungry Harriman team? Or will the Blue Devils rally to take some heat off their coach and team? Our panel of experts weighs in. Note: our definition of experts may be much different than others.

Steven Fro Sears:
Midway is coming off a big win last week against Tellico Plains and I think they will keep the momentum going this week against Harriman. Midway needs to ignore the fact that Harriman hasn’t won a game this season. Being confident is a good thing, but over confidence can lead to sloppy play. Stayed focused and get the job done. I like Midway in this weeks matchup. Midway 34 Harriman 21

Tony Clower:
I have to be careful on this pick since my wife is an alumnus of Harriman High, but I guess I’ll take that risk. I believe the Waves have found a way to win. Give me the Green Wave 26-12 over the Blue Devils, sorry honey!

Kyle Canup:
Well let me start off by saying that I really ate my words last week and the Waves really stuck that W to me. I’m glad the Waves came out to play and really played well against a good Tellico team, and I was highly impressed by the defense and the pressure that was applied. I knew after watching this game it would help me decide this week’s pick and if the Waves come out Friday night like they did this previous week they should give Harriman a highly unimpressive 0-7 record. I’m taking Midway this week to get their second district win and improve their chances at a playoff berth. Midway 30 Harriman 16

Side note: Maybe this pick will help keep me safe on the slopes this year.

Amber Bock Johnson:
I think Midway is gonna continue to “ride the wave of victory” through downtown Harriman this Friday. I’ve got the Waves 36-14 over the Blue Devils.

Barry Boo Narramore:
I had to work last Friday night but the parking lot crowd tells me the Green team show some life. Sounds like little Jon Beason is making a name for himself with a couple of ESPN worthy catches. This weeks game may turn into a great game to watch! I’ve seen some great Harriman/Midway matchups over the years and this may be another one!
You know me I’ll take the Green but this one is not gonna be close. Midway by 14!!!

Ralton Mule Emory:
Wonderful way to prove me wrong last week. I’ll gladly take a loss on the pick panel for a step forward in the win column for the Waves.

This week we will see if the Waves can take that next step and maybe even move closer to extending their season (dare I say…hush your mouth!).

The Waves go to the unfriendly confines of Harri-Back-Man to play the Turquoise Demons. Both teams have something to play for aside from a region game. Can the Waves move into the win column and get over the hump and go 4-3? Can the demons play with pride to get their first win? I don’t think either team will be intimidated.

Midway in a close one.

Waves 32, Harri-Back-Man 30

After last weeks home win at the Emerald Forest, Amber and Steven move into a 2-way tie for first place on the Pick Panel. Follow along each week as the Panel battles it out for the coveted SORSN Pick Panel Championship.
