This week the Midway Greenwave host the Tigers of Sunbright. The Waves are in need of a W after coming off back-to-back losses to Rockwood and Coalfield. Midway’s depth chart should look better this week as players who were serving a one-game suspension for the melee in the Tiger den return this week.
Sunbright has had a rough 2023 season thus far. The Tigers are 0-4 and have been outscored 206-6 in those 4 losses.
Will the Wave underestimate their opponent this week? Or will the Midway offense finally find some life and put up points against a fragile defense?
Let’s ask our panel of expe…..guys.
Tyson Canup (2-2): No bones about it this week, Waves roll 36-0.
Chris Barry (1-3): It’s Friday night lights once again!! And If the team is as ready as I am for a W then they should have no problem serving the Tigers with their 5th straight loss of the season and sending them back to their Tiger cub den with their tails tucked between their legs. The Waves will be bringing a tidal wave with O’Toole hanging 10 all the way to the green and white checkerboard. Give me the Waves pitching a shut out 49-0. Let’s get ‘em Boys!! Go Big Green!
Travis Jackson (1-3): This is the week the pick panel will go all green and will be 6 for 6. Should see a lot of points on the scoreboard for the big Green and lots of newspaper clippings next week for the scrap book. If that’s still a thing🤷🏼♂️ Waves by 35
Jason Lloyd (2-2): Midway gets all of their players back this week, after some were suspended for last week’s game because of getting in a fight with players from Rockwood (which I’m sure nobody SOR blames them for, and TBH I hope they’re getting an extra slice of pizza in the cafeteria for it). Now they’re on to the other Tigers team on the schedule, who have yet to find the win column this year. I see the Waves getting back on track in this game, and taming the Tigers from Sunbright. Give me the Waves by double digits – 28-7!
Ethan Crabtree (1-3): Well, after a tough week last week, I am highly expecting the offense to find a good rhythm and I believe the Waves will score a good amount of points. I think the Sunbright Tigers will also put up a good fight but the will not be able to withstand the mighty Green Waves! Midway 42-7.
Barry Boo Narramore (1-3): If you thought this was the week Barry would pick against the Green? You’d be wrong. Midway by 30.
