Boys Roll Past TSD

Coming off a big, thrilling last second win at Harriman, the Greenwaves’ most daunting task would be to keep that type of enthusiasm as they faced TSD. The Greenwaves actually struggled some in the first half; sloppy play kept the game somewhat close. However, half-time adjustments helped the Greenwaves to a 72-49 win.

Midway struggled against TSD’s zone defense but was able to get out and run in the 2nd half for some easy fast break lay-ups. Jeremy Woody, and his high-top fade doo, had another great game and lead the scoring with 21 and was solid in the half-court offense. Josh Lloyd played well and added 13 followed by Justin Pressley with 11. Spencer “Is it Morning Already” Myers was held in check by the zone and not really able to get to the rim. He ended the night with 6 points. Derek “DownTown” Townsend added 7, including one from behind the arc. The Greenwaves had a total of four 3-pointers from four different players.

Midway’s biggest challenge on the night was the tip drill to start the warm-ups. The tip-drill continues to be the Achilles Heel for the Greenwaves; may I suggest “step-drag, step-drag” to start warm-ups?
