The Lady Waves were defeated last night, 6-0, by Trinity Christian in the 1st round of the state tournament. However, it is a double elimination so the girls from the south still have a shot at the state championship.
As of 9:30 this morning, the Lady Waves were in route to their 2nd game, Friendship Christian Academy. A win this morning will keep the hopes alive for the first ever MHS Softball State Title.
There are 8 teams in the state tournament and the first round results are listed below:
Forrest over Friendship Christian 2-0
Unaka over Monterey 6-2
Columbia Aca over Huntingdon 3-2
Trinity Chr over Midway 6-0
