The Waves, coming off a disappointing loss to Rockwood, came out on fire against Jellico. The Waves handed Jellico a 42-14 loss, and it actually wasn’t even that close.
Brock King, the starting RB for Midway, returned to the lineup after missing game 1 due to injury. However, it was Spencer “Swivel Hips” Myers who took over the show. With both QB’s out with injury, Myers stepped in under center and the offense was firing on all cylinders. Myers did it in the air, connecting on long pass plays, and on the ground as he rushed for 2 TD’s. Myers, who typically plays WR, did not look out of place at quarterback as he read the defense well and scrambled when he needed to.
Myers, seen here in shotgun formation, had help moving the chains with a relentless running game. Junior RB, Daniel “Highlight Reel” Bredwell, had another great game rushing. Coach, this kid has some skills!
“Swivel Hips” also picked up were he left off last year. On defense, Myers intercepted a pass, his first of the season. Myers came away with 7 int’s last year.
Midway also looked very poised and made very few mistakes..only turning the ball over once with a fumble. Penalties, which normally plague the Green team, were minimal.
Congratulations to the Waves on a dominating performance.
