Blake Bray (RB/DE):
SORSN: It seems that you keep running harder every week. Do you feel like your becoming a stronger runner as the season progresses?
Blake: Yes, I think I’m becoming a stronger runner as the season goes on. I’m hitting the holes harder and better. The line is doing a great job of blocking for me.
SORSN: Could you walk us through the steps you go through before a play from the time the play comes into the huddle?
Blake: Well, I really don’t have steps I go through. I just listen to the play that is called and I think of what I have to do. It really isn’t steps it’s just SOR football.
SORSN: Tell us about the most memorable play for you Friday night?
Blake: The best play I liked was when we got the fumble at the two yard line and took it back. I was looking for someone to block then I saw someone so I put him on the ground. The next person was number 55 he was pretty big guy, but I lowered my shoulder and put him on the ground as I did his teammate.
SORSN: What would you do in the following situation: You’ve broken a 15 yard run around the left side and now there is just one defender between you and the end zone. Do you lower your shoulder and drive him and the ball into the end zone, juke him out of his shorts or something completely different?
Blake: I would just lower my shoulder hold on to the ball tight and plow through him and into the end zone.
SORSN: How do you feel about the nickname “Mule”?
Blake: Well, I didn’t know my nickname was mule, but now I do. I like the nickname that Jude O’Toole and my other teammates call me, “Pinball”, better than I do mule.
SORSN: Capt. Crunch or Fruit Loops? Pepsi or Coke? Peanut Butter & Jelly or Ham & Cheese?
Capt. Crunch, Pepsi, Ham & Cheese
What Blake really meant is that he likes Coke and all other Coca-Cola products much, much better than Pepsi. Isn’t that right Blake? (P.S. Blake, I work for Coke)
Spencer Myers (WR/FS/P):
SORSN: Friday night was a big night of hitting for you. Tell us about the play where you caused the fumble on the 2 yard line, as they were making their way to the end zone.
Spencer: Well as I saw the QB eyeing the WR I knew it was lights out for him. That was it for that WR.
SORSN: The smell of a football locker room is unique to say the least. And though it seems impossible, the smell gets worse deeper into the season. For those who’ve never been inside of a football locker room, describe the smell.
Spencer: If you have a passion like we do for football, it’s the best smell in the world.
SORSN: Do you have a favorite pre-game meal?
Spencer: Not for football.
SORSN: Your brother Brent seems to have more piercings than a pin cushion, does he really need anymore holes in his head?
Spencer: No, I am afraid his brain is going to leak out. (It already has.)
SORSN: If you had to choose between school food or your mom’s cooking, which would it be?
Spencer chose not to comment but I believe what Spencer intended to say was that even though he loves his mommy very, very much…he’d probably go with school food.
Caleb Clark (LB/OL):
SORSN: Caleb, big game for you on the defensive side of the ball. You also had a big game against Oliver Springs where you lead the team in tackles. Do you feel as the season continues that you’re reading the offense better and better?
Caleb: Yes, I feel as the season continues, it becomes easier for me to read the offense earlier in the game.
SORSN: We’re now mid-way through the season, what are some of your favorite moments thus far?
Caleb: Being 4-1 is probably the best thing so far, but beating Rockwood would’ve made it a lot better!
SORSN: Greenback rolls into Midway Friday night, how big of a game is this for you and what do you as an individual need to do to prepare for the game?
Caleb: This is a huge game, and against the biggest rival Midway has ever had. To be prepared for this game, I must be completely mentally ready before the game even begins.
SORSN: This is your senior year, and though you didn’t pound anyone with a plastic bat, what are some of the good practical jokes from around the locker room?
Caleb: We really don’t have any, except for nicknames.
SORSN: Which would you rather win: the Heisman Award or the coveted SORSN Player of the Game?
Caleb: Of course the SORSN Player of the Game!
Good answer Caleb, good answer.
