Assistant Coach Justin O’Toole
SORSN: After the shutout win over Greenback you were heard to say “WE’RE GOING TO HOOTERS!”, but told us later you did not go. After the big shutout of Coalfield have you finally made good on the trip to Hooters?
Justin: No I didn’t get to make that trip. We sat in the parking lot after the game and listened to Coach Moser get interviewed. After that we told him what he should have said (that’s why he’s the head coach and the only one authorized to talk to the media).
SORSN: Do you contribute Jude’s toughness and ability to throw the ball to you being his older brother? If so, what “teaching” techniques were utilized to increase your brother’s athletic abilities?
Justin: Jude has always been pretty tough and worked hard. We don’t talk much about football just every now and then. I don’t “teach” him much but we will talk about what he needs to work on like strength, stretching, and conditioning. I tell him the best way to prepare in those areas and he works hard with my advice to accomplish what he wants.
SORSN: Rumor has it you used to visit Cotton Eyed Joe’s pretty frequently in college. These rumors have no base in reality do they?
Justin: Can we talk about something else like Shillings talking to the media during the game???
SORSN: What are the biggest differences between the team that you played with a MHS and the team you coach at MHS?
Justin: One big difference is the number of players on the team. I played with the “dirty dozen and a half”. Now we have 40 kids on the team. Another huge difference I feel is the summer weight program Coach Moser has established is a big reason for Midway’s recent success.
SORSN: What advice would you have for the seniors about college?
Justin: Just work hard and remember the real reason your at college is to get an education, all the other stuff can wait.
