SORSN: Coach Moser, it’s time again for our summer interview. The team is coming off its winningest season in school history. What was the off season like? Have you been able to reflect on last years accomplishments? Does last years accomplishments add unnecessary pressure to the 2008 team?
Coach Moser: We’ve had a decent off-season. We were proud of a lot of the players that have risen to the occasion in weight training to fill holes left by last year’s seniors.
Last year was a fun year but let’s get on with this year. No added pressure. We have a bullseye on us though.
SORSN: The season opener is now less than a month away. Compare this summers workouts and weight room performance to recent years.
Coach Moser: Effort was good. We still need to be in better shape. Our players usually put an emphasis on weights. Hopefully it will show on the field.
SORSN: Can you translate the new TSSAA classification for us?
Coach Moser: Uhhh! So forth and what not on the deal. You got a naught and a naught with the deal. The “Z Plan” will not go into effect until the 2009 season. We’ll try and translate a later time.
SORSN: What changes in the coaching staff have taken place since the season last ended?
Coach Moser: Chad Goldston will be working with the OL and DL and assist in weight training. Cupcake will make the move from Middle School height, I mean coach, to assist us at MHS.
Craig Moser – Head Coach
Justin O’Toole – Defensive Coordinator/OL
Terry Gordon – RB/LB
Chad Goldston – DL/Special Teams
Jerry Walker – DB/WR
Steve Stansbury – DL/Strength & Conditioning
CoachCake – Paying off bets
SORSN: By the end of the ’07 season, every QB on the roster was in a cast. Can you comment on the current health of the team?
Coach Moser: A little banged up right now. We should be fine as the season gets going. We hope to improve and get better each week.
SORSN: What has the football team done to help minimize the impact of high fuel costs? Are there plans to have hay rides or ride horseback to the games?
Coach Moser: Coach Walker rides his motorcycle, and is going to double Gordon. O’Toole usually forgets there’s a game. Steve will run to the games. Cupcake will ride a Big Wheel.
Thank you Coach Moser and we look forward to the 2008 season opener.
