Round 1: Pick Panel Selections

This week, the Waves travel deep into the hills of Sevierville to face a very good Cosby Eagle team. Cosby finished the season at 8-2 and in 2nd place in region 1A.

Can Ray Ray find running room against the Eagles? Will QB Viar have enough time in the pocket to look down field and produce a semi-balanced offense? These are 2 things that must happen in order for the Waves to pull off the upset.

The Pick Panel chimes in with their thoughts…

“This ain’t basketball…Waves win by tapout due to a rear-naked choke.”
Ralton Emory

“Just a couple years ago if I remember correctly Midway was an underdog in the playoffs at Cosby. And if memory serves me right we laid a big fat loss on them. That was then this is now. The Eagles will be fired up and ready to stop, or at least try to stop, The Ray Train. It’s a long way up there and the Waves will have plenty of time to think about what they’re gonna have to do to beat Cosby, who have lost only 2 games this year to 2 very good teams, BARELY. The Waves will have to play the game of the year to pull this one off. I have not gone against the Mighty Waves all year but this week…………….. who am I kidding!

MIGHTY WAVES PULL OFF THE UPSET 12-10!”
Jeff Hill

“Playoff time!!! The Green travels to Cosby and are not expected to fair too well, but this is Region 2 against Region 1 and I believe Region 2 teams are the hoss’s this year. Midway will upset the #2 Cobsy team and get another shot at #1 Oneida.”
Barry Narramore

“The boys from the south had a good season despite some rough patches, and have made it a yearly expectation to appear in the playoffs. This contest is gonna be closer than expected. Midway will have a strong showing, but I’m afraid it’s not enough. Cosby edges out Midway.”
Amber Johnson

“It’s playoff time. Cosby has home field advantage and this could be the difference in this game. But I don’t think so. The team from South of the River has an opportunity to keep the season going and advance and I think they can do it. Give me the Green in a close game.”
Randy Rose

“Unfortunately Cosby…”
Michael Rose
