For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the Waves will face off against another purple-clad team as they play host to the Grundy County Yellow Jackets….yes, purple & yellow jackets. This is a first ever meeting between the two schools. Grundy County is a 2A school located off of I-24, about an hour south of Murfreesboro.
Grundy is 2-4 on the season with wins over Oliver Springs and Chattanooga Christian.
The Waves fell to arch nemesis, Greenback, last week 21-14. The Waves were down early but rallied in the 2nd half and nearly took the win away from the ‘kees.
Will it rain purple in the Emerald Forest Friday night or will the Greenwaves return to being the Mean-Green Waves and send the 1st time visitors to SOR on the long bus ride back home with a big L?
Guys & gal…make your pick.
Amber Johnson:
Midway has been knocking on the door of Victory for the past two weeks. They’ve shown fight and progress every week. This is the week they “kick the door in.” Give me Midway in a victorious introduction to Grundy Co.
Randy Rose:
I hope the Green can put it together and get a big win this week, but I’m going with Grundy Co.
Ralton Emory:
I have to go with the Green this week. I feel that there is a burning desire to get this losing monkey off their chest and this will be the week to do it.
Some might call this an upset pick, I call it the Green playing to their potential.
The pieces will fall into place this week for Coach Mo’s boys: 28 to 14 over the Orange Hornets (er…Yellow Jackets) of Grundy.
Kyle Canup:
Well I’ve taken Midway 5 out of 6 and only once have I got that right. I picked Midway to go to OZ and beat the Bobcats but we came up short, and well Grundy beat OS pretty good. Too many close games this year and not enough wins so I’m taking Grundy County this week. Maybe it’ll come back and bite me for not staying true.
Boo:
Didn’t get to watch the Green play last week but heard we gave up points on long plays. G.C. will be a tough chore for the young Greenwaves but I think they’ll get this one in a close game that goes all the way to the 4th quarter. If the Defense shuts down the big plays and the offense can score more than 14 points, we get the win. “Go big Green.”
