The Greenwaves are hopefully dried out from last week’s game against Grundy County because this week they travel to Rockwood for a district game against the Tigers.
Rockwood is 5-2 (1-2) with lopsided wins over Greenback, Sweetwater, and Coalfield as well as a big win over Kingston. Their losses have come via Grace Christian and Tellico Plains.
The Waves have played better week over week and have been on the door step of win #2 for the last couple of weeks.
Can the Waves beat the odds this week? Let’s see what the Magic 8 Ball has to say….
Amber Johnson:
As bad as I hate to do it; I’m picking Rotwood. Every year I pick Midway over Rockwood, and we haven’t beaten them yet. Maybe by reverse psychology, the boys can pull it out.
Barry Narramore:
With 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter last Friday night I thought I was witnessing the death of the 2009-2010 Midway Football team. For the next 3 quarters we may have seen the resurrection of that same team. We finally saw some bone jarring hits, something that has been missing from this year’s team. I saw Matt Oliver run like a man who wanted to score every time he touched the ball. I seen Tyler McMahan playing his heart out and I saw a Midway team trying to win. I can live with that and I refuse to pick against them. This is the best last placed team in East Tn. If this team can figure out how to play a full game, there’s more wins left in their future.
Randy Zipper Rose:
Nothing would be sweeter than to see a big win over Rockwood, but I’ll have to go with the Tigers at home.
Kyle Canup:
Well I was definitely shocked with how well they played against Grundy County and saw really big plays on both sides of the ball. A few costly penalties though and I think that was a major key to the loss. Rockwood on the other hand isn’t Grundy County, they’re a lot better. If the Waves come out hard they could put a good fight against them and maybe even pull away with a huge upset. It’s against everything I know to pick Rockwood so I’m pulling for a BIG week 8 upset.
Ralton Mule Emory:
Rockwood.
Michael Rose:
Viva Rock Vegas.
There’s been some separation among the panel due to last weeks pick. The Rose brothers have moved out in front with records of 5-2. Ralton & Amber are each at 4-3. Kyle is at 3-4 and Barry…well, let’s just say he loves his Waves.
The Pick Panel can be found using the menu along the right side….look under the SORSN Football section.
