MMS Lady Waves Blank Wartburg, Hall Throws No-Hitter

On Tuesday evening, the MMS Lady Waves hosted the Lady Bulldogs of Wartburg. It took a couple of innings for the Midway girls to warm up, but it wasn’t long before their bats began pinging and runners started crossing the plate.

It took the Midway girls only five innings to claim the victory. They scored their tenth and final run of the game shortly after the bottom of the fifth frame began, bringing the run rule into effect.

Pitcher Raygn Hall threw a no-hitter for Midway, striking out 12 batters. Hall walked only two Lady Bulldogs in the game. Top hitters for Midway included Rachel Tuttle (3-3, 3B, 2B, RBI), Alexis Taylor (3-4), and Hall (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI).

Now, the focus of the Lady Waves switches to the Kingston Lady Jackets. On Thursday, the SOR girls will make the short trip to Southwest Point to try and gain redemption for last week’s bitterly disappointing and rain-soaked loss to Kingston. When asked about Thursday’s looming matchup, Midway head coach Chris Borum said, “If we show up and play our game, play like we can, we win hands down.” Game time is 6 PM.
