Interview with Lady Wave senior, Alisa Barger

SORSN: Congratulations on the big win over Grace Tuesday night. The Lady Wave have picked up important back-to-back district wins and have another big district game Friday against Greenback. Besides out score them, what do you and your teammates have to do to defeat the Lady Cherokees?

Alisa: I think to defeat them we just have to play to the best of our ability the whole game. If we work together and are ready to get the job done it should be no problem!

SORSN: Describe your biggest victory to-date as a Lady Wave? What made it so special?

Alisa: Beating Sweetwater & winning the holiday classic. I am pretty sure it boosted everyone’s confidence. It felt good to be champs. It also was amazing being the underdogs & coming out with the win!

SORSN: What loss still haunts you and you wish you could get a do-over? Why?

Alisa: Grace at Grace. I hate having to think about losing to them. It just makes it worse knowing we have beaten them before. That is the one team that I am pretty sure everyone at Midway would say beating them never gets old!

SORSN: When you lay down at night, do you still hear Coach Woody screaming from the sidelines? Who does the best Coach Woody impersonation?

Alisa: Oh gosh! Well not really. If we win all I can think about is how awesome it was & if we lose I just try to forget it & think how I can’t improve the next game. & nobody does the Amy impersonation like Amy herself 🙂

Uh huh.  Sounds like you don’t want to give anyone up….or perhaps it’s Ms Barger who does the best impersonation?

SORSN: Do you have a pre-game ritual? Favorite game day meal? If so, what are they?

Alisa: Usually I find myself at McDonalds with the girls right after school and then I just come back get ready and stretch. When we are ready we say our prayer & then we are ready to go. That’s what pretty much what happens every home game.

Thanks for your time Alisa and good luck Friday night.
