Panel Weighs in on tonight’s District showdown

This Friday night is sure to be a heck of a battle in the Emerald Forest as the Tellico Plains Bears (1-3) travel to the land of the green giants. The Waves are 3-0 on the season and have yet to be challenged; that could change Friday night. Last year, the TP Bears defeated the Waves 29-28. How will things play out in 2014? Let’s ask the SORSN Pick Panel.

Ralton Emory:
These bears ain’t smokey.

Waves 35 Pooh Bears 18

Amber Johnson:
The Waves are in a good position with a 3-0 record and first District game at home with the Tellico Plains bears tonight. Midway’s team has some confidence coming into this game, and the home crowd helps with the victory. Midway 32 Tellico 28

Steven Sears:
This week brings a huge challenge for the Greenwaves. The Tellico Plains Bears are coming to SOR for a huge district game. So far Tellico has had a rocky 1-3 start, but they have faced tougher opponents than Midway has. Last year’s bout was a nail biter with Tellico edging the Greenwaves 29-28. I believe this year’s game will not disappoint and should be a good challenge for Midway. I’m picking Midway to get revenge on the Bears. Midway gets their first district win. Midway 28 Tellico 24.

Kyle Canup:
Midway in a close one. Finally a game to see how the waves will stand. This game will see if they’re ready to play in the district. Would like to see the waves redeem last year’s tough loss

Barry Narramore:
The Midway Green Waves open district play with Tellico Bears visiting SOR on Friday night. The Bears are only 1-3 but their loses have come to tough teams such as Sequoya, Grace, and Copper Basin. Tellico scored no less than 19 points in any of these games and actually scored 26 against Grace. So don’t let the records fool ya this is gonna be a tough game for the Greenwaves.
Midway has a nice 3-0 record and scored early and often last week at Hancock Co. Tanner Seymour continues to be impressive running the ball for the Waves. Jake Woody had a nice first half for the Green at QB. Some of the younger players got lots of reps on Friday.
This game will depend on Woody being able to complete some passes and if he does I think Seymour will get another 100 yard night. If this happens, Midway will win 21-20. Go big Green!!!

Michael Rose:
Midway

Rose picks Midway for a 3rd straight time? It appears as if Boo Narramore has hacked Rose’s email account. Let’s hope his pictures from the cloud don’t soon surface.
