Splash on the Who Shot John or some Midnight on Dogtown Road, it’s Homecoming this Friday night. The Waves (4-0,1-0) welcome the Tigers of Sunbright (2-3, 1-1) to the Emerald Forest for a night of blitz, glamour, and football. Last year, it was a nail-bitter with Midway holding on to a 28-27 win over the Tigers. Sunbright has put up a lot of points in their last 2 games and will challenge Midway’s hogs and defensive backs.
Will Midway move to 5-0 or will Sunbright pull off the upset? Who goes home with the crown? Will M. Rose actually chime in with more than “Midway”? All important questions that must be answered…..

It’s Homecoming week and the Greenwaves are still undefeated heading into game 5. After picking up their first district win last week against Tellico Plains, Midway now shifts their focus to the Sunbright Tigers from Morgan County. Sunbright has had bumpy start this season with a 2-3 record. Although this isn’t a district game for Midway, I believe this is a must win for the Greenwaves to keep momentum going into the tougher part of their schedule. I’m taking Midway to win their Homecoming game sending the Tigers back to Morgan County with their tails between their legs. Midway 35-18 over Sunbright.
Amber Bock Johnson:
There’s nothing like stale cookies, sugary punch and awkward slow-dancing. It’s homecoming time. The Waves are really rolling…just hope they don’t overlook the visiting Tigers. If the Waves can stay on track, they make the home crowd happy. give me Midway by 1 TD. 35-28.

Ah, homecoming week. The smell of the latest Taylor Swift perfume will arise from the house of Green this Friday…but enough about the perfume choice of Coach Campbell.
The Moon-Dim Tiggers from the mountain fall off their perch and visit the sea of Green this week. I see a repeat of weeks past. The slobber-knockers up front knocking some slobber and allowing the pretty boys in the backfield to gain some yards and some glory. Long live the lineman!
No bouncing for these Tiggers. Taylor Swift might write you a song about lost love and lost football games.

Midway moves to 5-0 and picks up the homecoming win. Exciting to see the Waves playing big still. If Oakdale can be 5-0 then the green waves won’t have a problem.

What a game last week!!! I watch a lot football just to get to see a game like last weeks Midway/Tellico game. Midways big boys shoved Tellico off the line all night. Tellico returned the favor with some impressive Pitch and catch. But in the end it was the defensive front of Patterson, Collier, Hester, Crabtree. And Patterson who finally put the heat on Tellico’s QB and forced the turnovers to decide the game. Great win Greenwaves!!
This week is the Sunbright Tigers. This is another game where the records should be threw out. Sunbright has a very good QB and I was stunned at what he did against Rockwood in the jamboree. The Green teams pass defense may have been exposed last Friday but I sure Coach Minton has spent some quality time in that direction this week. Last year’s game was decided by Sunbright scoring a TD too soon. Hopefully that will not be needed this go around. I predict Midways Fab 5 will put the heat on Sunbrights QB early and will result in a least 2 Turnovers. Midway wins but not in a blowout. Midway 28-Sunbright 14
